Sabbath: Resistance & Rhythms
Whether reading the Old Testament or New Testament it becomes clear that the idea of Sabbath is quite important. As we turn to Luke 6, we encounter the first of many instances where Jesus is interacting with his disciples on the Sabbath in ways that infuriate the religious leaders who are the gatekeepers of the laws, including the Sabbath.
In this series we discuss the concept of Sabbath reflecting on both the creation and Exodus story to understand the character of God and the reasons for the gift of Sabbath. We also examine how good gifts of God like Sabbath can become burdensome laws and dig into how the Sabbath gift can be enjoyed to its fullest.
